Back to Blogging

As we’d say in New Jersey: “It’s been a minute.”

I haven’t blogged since last August. This ten-month silence reflects my decision to focus on other responsibilities. I’ll mention two. Last year I wrote for World Outspoken as a scholar-in-residence; last winter I prepared a course on James Baldwin I co-taught with Dr. Theon Hill. I loved both opportunities. World Outspoken is doing amazing work for la iglesia Latina. Brother Hill is a dear friend with whom I hope to co-teach repeatedly.

As I return to blogging, I’ve decided to keep my posts brief. Most will be quote-blogs, posts that share an insightful quotation. I unfortunately don’t have the bandwidth for numerous extended blog posts. Other responsibilities call.

My decision to post quote-blogs also reflects my decision to decease my Twitter presence. I’ll only use Twitter three times a week, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. And I plan to circumscribe my Twitter engagement to things I find life-giving. Sometimes you must let the dead bury the dead.

And on that grave note—Saludos!
