¡Hola/Hello! My name is Dr. Nathan Luis Cartagena. I’m a son of the US South, Puerto Rico, and the Church. These living heritages shape my work as an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Wheaton College (IL), where I teach courses on race, justice, and political philosophy. I labor as a decolonial teacher-scholar committed to Jesus of Nazareth and the Kingdom of God, a Kingdom marked by justice, love, mercy, and shalom. Consequently, I work to experience and promote holistic liberation.

One way I experience and promote holistic liberation is through blogging. My blogs are mixed. Some posts share personal stories. Others detail US history. Some posts engage biblical studies. Others amplify and preserve Latine theology. Some posts are long. Most are bite-sized. All are free. And all reflect my attempts to love God and neighbor through meditations that incorporate my mixed heritages and commitments to decolonial, Kingdom-shaped, pilgrim-living.

Welcome to website. Thank you for joining me. ¡Y Bendiciones!
